Kelita Wright-Foster
I am a proud native of Blakely, GA, and Early County, deeply rooted in the values of community, service, and empowerment. My mother, Mildred Salter-Wright, instilled in me the importance of family and giving back—whether through resources or simply through time. Her influence shaped my passion for advocacy, leadership, and community-building.
After graduating from Early County High School in 1990, I pursued my love for business and education, earning an Associate of Arts in Business Management from Grantham University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as well. These experiences, combined with my entrepreneurial spirit, led me to establish Black Excellence Empowerment Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting, inspiring, and empowering women through advocacy, community-building, and education.
Beyond my role as Founder and CEO, I am actively engaged in numerous community initiatives. I serve as Treasurer for Open Arms Against Abuse Services, advocate as a Voices Ambassador for Black Women with the American Cancer Society, Junior League of Jacksonville, and volunteer my time at Jacksonville Job Corps for Women.
My work extends through strategic partnerships with the Junior League of Jacksonville and the local Chamber of Commerce, furthering the mission of empowerment and economic advancement.
I am also a founding and charter member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, where I previously served as Vice President of Finance and Financial Secretary. This leadership experience has reinforced my dedication to financial literacy, leadership development, and advancing the success of Black women in all spaces.
At my core, I am a wife, mother, and grandmother, blessed with a beautiful family. My husband, Christopher Foster, and I share a life centered on faith, love, and service. As a dedicated member of Forward Christian Center, I continue to pour into my community, ensuring that the legacy of Black excellence and empowerment thrives for generations to come.
“Empowerment is not just a word—it’s a movement. My mission is to uplift, inspire, and equip others to embrace their greatness.”

A Message from the CEO & Founder, Kelita Wright-Foster
"My heart is broken for the young ladies who looked to YLS as a safe haven, a place where they could find their voice, and build a better future. I never imagined we would have to discontinue our mentoring efforts at Jacksonville Job Corps so abruptly.
This decision doesn’t just impact programming it impacts lives. Some of these students now face homelessness, and many are leaving without the education or credentials they worked so hard to earn.
As a community, we cannot stand by and do nothing. Black Excellence Empowerment Inc. will not abandon our youth. We are exploring every possible way to continue serving and supporting them. Their journey is far from over."
We stand with every young person, mentor, and staff member impacted by this decision. Now more than ever, we must rally together to ensure no young person is left behind.
Black Excellence Empowerment Inc. is actively strategizing on how to respond and support those affected. Stay connected with us for updates.
